Duration: 5 weeks

01 Brand Audit

In order to understand the Museum’s current mission and design choice, I browsed their current website. Below is a brief brand audit.

Mission Statement

Provide vintage pinball machines as an interactive display of kinetic art, and dedicate to the preservation of pinball for future generations.

Audiences

Primarily the baby boomers or gamers who appreciate gaming heritage; secondary audience includes family members and children.

Mission Ineffectiveness

Outdated: utilizing bright hues of cyan and red

Inconsistent: website design and interaction flow

02 Logo Redesign

In the new logo, I add in the elements of pinball and flippers, the most representative features of pinball machines. The roundedness of shapes and the typeface match harmoniously.

03 Color Palette

Carnation = Warm Memories and Energy

Mobile Experience Redesign

Goal: provide an opportunity to interact with the museum remotely

Specific Improvement: interaction flow, as well as the pinball machine purchase experience
